the War on Immigrants...

When civil liberties are threatened for all, what recourse do immigrants have? In this state of siege, how do we pick our allies?
Invited Panelists:
  • Sunaina Maira
    Sunaina Maira is an Associate Professor of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Davis. She is a member of the South Asian Committee on Human Rights (SACH), a grassroots group that works on issues of post-9/11 civil and immigrant rights in the Boston area, and has also been involved with ASATA (Alliance of South Asians Taking Action).

  • Eyad Kishawi
    Eyad Kishawi is an activist with the Free Palestine Alliance and a member of the American-Arab Anti Discrimination Committee(ADC) in San Francisco. He has been working with the ADC to create the Divestment Resource Center,  a central provider of services to divestment activists nationwide.
This panel is being presented as part of OY! Summer 2004 . It is a free event and open to all, though contributions to OY! will be appreciated. Organizing Youth (OY!) is a volunteer-based organization formed with the aim of empowering youth from the South Asian Diaspora to organize for political, social and economic justice.
