How did you hear about OY!?

Please answer the following questions. They are meant to help us learn more about you, and to help us shape the institute to best fit your needs:

1.) Tell us why you are interested in the summer program. What attracted you to apply? What do you hope to gain? What do you hope to take back to your community?

2.) What do you think are the biggest problems facing your community today?

3.) What social and political issues are you interested in talking about and working on?

4.) What is your experience of engagement with these issues? (We don't require that you have any previous experience with organizing or community involvemen, we just wanna if you did)

5.) Describe a difficult experience you have faced and what it taught you. (It can be anything – it doesn't have to be political at all)

6.) Describe a positive experience you had the chance to be a part of and why it was important to you. (Again, it can be anything – it doesn't have to be political at all)

7.) Are there any specific issues that you would like to address in small project groups? Skills or resources that you would like to develop? Is there a specific project or activity that you would like to work on when you return from OY!?

Registration fees are $50 on a sliding scale [This means that we ask that you pay more if you feel you can afford it. Likewise, if you're constrained for cash send us as much as you can afford (all the way down to "nothing")].

OY! is run by an all-volunteer collective that raises money to pay for space, supplies, stipends, food and other expenses. We do not accept corporate dollars. We rely on the free labor of volunteers, small community-based grants, individual donations and registration fees. OY! is fiscally sponsored under the 501(c)3 umbrella of EKTA.

Do you think you would need a stipend to attend OY!? If so, how much? Could you be as specific as possible about your needs and resources?

While we can't promise anything yet, this will help us plan our budget and fit in as many of your needs as we can.
